United Way’s work with Marion Public Health and The Ohio State University Extension, Marion in establishing the Marion Housing Coalition is raising awareness and prompting discussions throughout the community about the need for safe, fair, and affordable housing for all residents.The Coalition includes leaders from government agencies, private businesses and non-profit groups meeting together to discuss the issues and collaborate to find a path forward. The housing issue is key to any community stakeholder interested in encouraging the growth and development of the area.
Our executive director, Amber Wertman, had this to say about United Way’s participation in the Marion Housing Coalition: “We want to identify the pressing issues and develop a joint plan to address them. One of United Way’s bold goals is to create healthy and vibrant neighborhoods in Marion.”
