United Way Kicks Off 2019-20 Investment Campaign
Raises over $6,700 at Celebrity Bartender Event in Marion
United Way of North Central Ohio serving Crawford, Marion, & Wyandot kicked off its Marion County Investment Campaign with their third annual Celebrity Bartender Event on Thursday, September 26. The event was part of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After-Hours series and featured local leaders and familiar faces from the Marion community. Over 100 guests arrived at the Marion Country Club to try signature drinks created by each bartender.
The year’s winning celebrity bartender was Kris Ramsey, music therapist for the Marion Public Library’s Music Time program. Ramsey collected over $1,800 in tips, with Dr. Ron Iarussi from Marion City Schools in close second at $1,760 in tips. Ramsey said, “It was an honor to participate in this year’s kick-off event and raise money for the many important community projects and services our United Way supports.”
This year’s kick-off event raised over $6,700 and benefits United Way and its mission to support programs that improve the health, education, and financial stability of individuals and families in Marion County.
Event sponsors included Marion Technical College, POET Biorefining, and VFW Ohio Charities.
