United for Impact: Crawford Transportation Coalition
Mission & Action Teams
The mission of the Crawford Transportation Coalition is to assess, promote, and advocate for transportation options for every Crawford County resident.
The Coalition leadership team has formed four Action Teams working to fulfill this mission.
OUTREACH & EDUCATION ACTION TEAM
Outreach & Education Action Team
Goal:
- To assess transportation needs and gaps and provide information on current available transportation options.
Strategies:
- Develop a transportation communication plan specific to initiatives established by committees.
- Create a branding strategy for Crawford County
- Review existing data on transportation needs and gaps with the Partnership
- Review data collected in the Community Health Assessment
- Possibly create and collect data using a transportation specific survey
- Add transit routes/stops to Google/Safari mapping platforms
- Inclusion in the County mitigation plan
FIXED/FLEX ROUTE ACTION TEAM
Fixed/Flex Route Action Team
Goal:
- Establish a flex route from Galion to Crestline to Ontario and connect with RTA (Richland).
Strategies:
- Coordinate with Richland County (RTA) & Avita
- Explore funding
- Logistical mapping
- Local stakeholder buy-in
EXTENDED HOURS ACTION TEAM
Extended Hours Action Team
Goal:
- To have transportation available 24 hours, including weekends.
Strategies:
- Microtransit options
- Establish partnerships with hospitals and businesses
- Survey the community to determine needs
- Educate public and businesses about available transportation options
- Hire drivers
ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION ACTION TEAM
Active Transportation Action Team
Goal:
- To improve the active transportation environment for Crawford County residents.
Strategies:
- Conduct walk audits for Galion, Bucyrus, & Crestline
- Focus on accessibility
- Safe Routes to School
- Improve bike infrastructure
- Create a Complete Streets Policy
